Cardinals continue ACC play against the Fighting Irish on Saturday afternoon
LOUISVILLE, KY. – The No. 11/11 University of Louisville women's lacrosse team will host No. 4/5 Notre Dame in an ACC matchup on Saturday afternoon at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium.  The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 6-0, which ties the best start in porgram history, after a dominant 10-4 victory over No. 10 Northwestern on Thursday afternoon at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium. Cortnee Daley and Julia Wood each posted hat tricks while Kelli Gerding added four assists and Brittany Read recorded a career-high 13 saves in the first ever victory in five tries against the Wildcats.
Kaylin Morissette continues to lead the way for the Cardinals in scoring with 21 points, scoring 15 goals and adding six assists. Cortnee Daley is second on the team with 14 goals while Hannah Koloski adds 13 goals. Kelli Gerding paces the team in assists with 12. Sophomore Brittany Read has started all six games in goal, recording a 4.76 goals against average with 52 saves on the year.

Notre Dame enters the game with a 5-0 overall record and a 1-0 conference record. Including Notre Dame's 14-4 victory over ACC foe No. 9 Boston College, the Irish have won their previous three games with a +3.9 scoring margin.

Courtney Fortunato leads the Irish in scoring with 29 points on 19 goals and 10 assists. Rachel Sexton adds 13 goals and five assists for 18 points while Heidi Annaheim and Nikki Ortega each add 10 goals apiece. Defensively, Samanatha Giacolone has recorded a 4.62 goals against average and has 32 saves on the year.

Notre Dame leads the series 6-1, with the previous six meetings being decided by three goals or less. In the last meeting between the two schools, Louisville picked up their first win in series history with a 10-8 road victory in South Bend, Ind. Cortnee Daley scored four goals while Hannah Koloski scored three in the victory. After being tied at six apiece at halftime, the Cardinals went on a 3-0 run in the second half to gain control of the game.
