
Women’s Golf Finishes Ninth at the Hurricane Invitational

Laura Restrepo tied for 14th behind a 1-over-par 214.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team capped its stay in the south with a ninth-place finish on Wednesday at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla.
The Cardinals shot a 5-over-par 289 in the final round and totaled a three-day score of 21-over-par 873 at The Biltmore Golf Course. Louisville, 32nd in the latest Golfstat rankings, placed ahead of a pair of ranked teams in No. 39 Purdue and No. 17 Texas Tech, while No. 7 Northwestern won the team title behind a 24-under-par 828.
Laura Restrepo was the Cardinals' top finisher for the third-consecutive match after shooting a 1-over-par 214 and tying for 14th. The senior had three her 13 birdies during the day. Impressively, she finished ahead of Texas Tech's and top-ranked Gabby Barker and the eighth-ranked player in Northwestern's Stephanie Lau.
Playing as an individual, Ellen Kehoe had the second-highest finish after tying for 20th. A freshman, she improved play as the tournament continued – clubbing an even-par 71 on Tuesday and concluding the event with a season-tying best 1-below par 70.
Molly Skapik and Lexie Long tied for 45th, each recording a 9-over-par 222, and Katie Mitchell and Louise Oxner tied for 49th in the 90-player field.
The Cardinals resume play in two weeks at the Briar's Creek Invitational in Johns Island, S.C. The two-day event begins on March 21 and takes place at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek.
