
Women’s Golf Jumps to Tie for Seventh at Hurricane Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team shot one of its best rounds of the year and climbed into a tie for seventh on Tuesday after two rounds of play at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla.
The Cardinals, collectively, had 17 birdies at the Biltmore Golf Course and shot a 1-over-par 285 and jumped six spots on the team leaderboard. Louisville's composite of 16-over-par 584, which is tied for seventh with East Carolina, is just seven strokes back of Miami and South Florida. Seventh-ranked Northwestern is leading the pack with a 16-under-par 552.
Laura Restrepo, the Cardinals' top individual, is tied for 10th with an even-par 142. The senior, who has the most birdies in the field with 10, compiled a 2-under par in the second round and rose 16 spots in the standings. She shot an even-par 36 on the back nine and finished the day with a 2-under-par 33 through the front nine.
The Cardinals' Louise Oxner had a stellar second-round performance as well, with an identical and career-best 2-under-par 69. Through 36 holes, she is tied for 25th with a 3-over-par 145. The junior totaled five birdies during the day, including three on the front nine.
Katie Mitchell and Lexie Long are in a tie for 48th, each with a 7-over-par 149, and round out the team's top-four scorers.
Ellen Kehoe, who is playing as an individual, has performed well. The freshman is tied for 27th with a 4-over-par 146.
Louisville returns to action for the third and final round at 8 a.m.
