LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team is heading south again for its second tournament of the spring, playing in the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament runs from Monday through Wednesday and features nine schools rated in Golfstat's top 50. The 16-team field is set to compete at The Biltmore Golf Course, a par-71, 6,080-yard course. Programs will tee off at 7:30 a.m. ET on Monday and Tuesday, with a shotgun start set for 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
Louisville, which is currently 32nd nationally, will utilize a lineup of Laura Restrepo, Katie Mitchell, Molly Skapik, Louise Oxner, and Lexie Long, with Ellen Kehoe competing as an individual.
The Cardinals are coming off a ninth-place finish at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Restrepo shot an impressive 1-over-par 217 and earned a seventh-place showing. Mitchell (tied for 42nd) and Jacqueline Twitty (tied for 44th) placed in the top 50.
This year, Restrepo is pacing the team in stroke average at 73.21 through 19 rounds. She and Mitchell each have four top-10 showings and six rounds even or below par, and Mitchell is second with a 73.68-stroke average.
Last year, Louisville placed fourth at the event with a 21-over-par 873. Mitchell tied for sixth with a 2-over-par 215.
