Track and Field Sets Three School Records on Saturday

Krause, Fox and the men's 4x400m relay team set new school records
AKRON, OHIO – The University of Louisville track and field team wrapped up Saturday's events with three school records. At the Akron Invitational, Chanel Krause set a new school record in the pole vault and Eric Fox set a new school record in the heptathlon. At the Meyo Invitational in the men's 4x400m relay, the Cardinals set a new school record.  Â

Krause cleared a personal best of 4.20m/13-09.25 to finish second in the pole vault. She broke the previous record she held along with Jade Hawkins of 4.12m/13-6.25. Hawkins finished fourth in the event with a mark of 4.10m/13-05.25. Freshman Morgan Zacharias finished 11th with a mark of 3.80m/12-05.50.

Fox finished fourth in the heptathlon with a new school record of 5353 points.  He broke teammate Marcus Motill's record of 5036 set in 2014. Fox wrapped up the day with a fourth place finish in the 1000m run with a personal best time of 2:49.03. He won the pole vault with a new personal best mark of 5.00m/16-04.75 and finished seventh in the 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 8.73.

Motill finished sixth in the heptathlon with 4807 points.  He finished third in the 1000m run with a time of 2:46.67. He finished 11th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.18 and fourth in the pole vault with a personal best mark of 4.50m/14-09.00.Â

At Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational, the men's 4x400m relay team of Andrew Nsuk, Jeron Brown, Teague Peck and Josh Hall set a new school record with a time of 3:11.65. They broke the previous school record of 3:13.60 set last season by Antoine Keys, Brown, Austin Hyden and Hall.Â

Dolly Nyemah finished second in the weight throw at the Akron Invitational with a personal best mark of 21.60m/70-10.50. Emmonnie Henderson finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 16.10m/52-10.00.Â

The Cardinals will be back in action next week at the Samford Invitational. Â
