Track & Field Wraps Up Second Day of Three-Meet Split

The University of Louisville track & field teams competed at both the Raleigh Relays and the UCF Knights Invite on Friday on the second day of their split weekend.

RALEIGH RELAYS
Results
The Cardinals concluded their time at the Raleigh Relays as a trio of Cards contested the women's 5000m on the second and final day of competition.
Heidi Meade was the top Louisville finisher with a time of 17:06.11, while Haley Meade clocked a personal-best time of 17:45.29. Ellie Maurer crossed the line in 18:08.26 to cap off the weekend for the Louisville distance squad in Raleigh.
UCF KNIGHTS INVITE
Results
The Cards were also represented at the UCF Knights Invite on Friday with the first of two days of competition in Orlando.
A week after winning the women's shot put at the USF Alumni Invitational on her way to being named ACC Women's Co-Field Athlete of the Week, Kaia Tupu-South picked up her second consecutive victory in the event to start her outdoor campaign with a final mark of 16.72m (54-10.25).
Matt Giuliano also continued his stellar start to his sophomore outdoor season in the men's hammer throw, improving his personal record for the second consecutive week with a toss of 63.68m (208-11) to move up to second in program history.
The Cardinals will conclude their weekend of competition tomorrow with the second and final day of the UCF Knights Invite, which will begin at 11:00 a.m. ET with the women's discus throw. Track events will get underway at 12:00 p.m. ET with the preliminary rounds of the women's 100m hurdles.
The Cards will also compete at Bellarmine's Jim Vargo Invitational in Louisville. The day's field events will get started with the women's long jump at 10:00 a.m. ET, while action on the track will begin at 1:15 p.m. with the men's 1500m.
