Cardinals Ready for Three-Meet Split

Louisville will compete at the Raleigh Relays, UCF Knights Invite, and Jim Vargo Invitational this weekend.
The University of Louisville track & field teams will split between three meets this weekend as the Cards are set to be represented at the Raleigh Relays, the UCF Knights Invite, and the Jim Vargo Invitational.

A small contingent of distance runners will begin the weekend at the Raleigh Relays on Mar. 26-27 at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility on the campus of NC State.
Â
The Cardinals will field a total of eight athletes in both the men's and women's 5000m as well as the men's 10000m over the course of their weekend in Raleigh.Â
Â
Madeleine Locher will notably make her Louisville debut after transferring in over the summer from Dartmouth, where she was a two-time Ivy League runner-up in the 5000m and a 2025 NCAA East Regional qualifier in the 10000m.

The Louisville sprinters and throwers will contest the UCF Knights Invite at the UCF Track & Field Complex in Orlando, Fla. on Mar. 27-28.
Â
Competition for Louisville athletes will begin on Friday morning with the women's javelin throw at 10:00 a.m. ET, while the weekend's track events will get underway on Friday afternoon at 6:00 p.m. ET with the women's 400m hurdles.

Kaia Tupu-South will lead the charge for the Cardinals as she looks to build off a strong season-opening performance at the USF Alumni Invitational last weekend, where she posted an NCAA-leading mark of 17.50m (17-7) in the women's shot put on her way to earning ACC Women's Co-Field Athlete of the Week honors.

The Cardinals will close out their weekend at Bellarmine's Jim Vargo Invitational at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Ky. on Mar. 28.

The one-day event for the Cardinals will tentatively begin at 10:00 a.m. ET with the women's long jump, while action on the track will begin at 1:15 p.m. with the men's 1500m.

Notable entries for the Cardinals include Miller Jones in the men's long jump and Collin Pate in the men's pole vault, who will make their outdoor season debuts just one month after earning runner-up finishes in their respective events at the ACC Indoor Championships in late February.
