
Worrell Wins Another Gold, Sets American Record in Final Day of FINA SC World Championships

Comerford wins relay gold.
University of Louisville swimmer Kelsi Worrell picked up another gold and silver while setting a new American Record in the final session of the FINA Short Course World Championships Sunday night in Windsor, ONT Canada.Â

Worrell won silver with a time of 55.22 in the 100 fly for a new American Record. She was just out-touched by Hungarian Katinka Hosszu, who went 55.12, setting a new Hungarian record.

Worrell was set to race in the final women's event, the 4x100 Medley Relay, when she had a collision in the warm-down pool that required four stitches in her right eyebrow. She went on to split 55.48 en route to another relay gold. Alexandra De Loof led off with a 56.68, followed by Lilly King's 1:03.71. Worrell was then followed by teammate Mallory Comerford, who anchored with a 52.02 to set a Championship Record of 3:47.89 and the win. Â

 In all, Worrell won four relay gold medals in Windsor, along with three silver medals in the butterfly races.

 In her other race tonight, Kelsi Worrell split 23.57 in the 4x50 Free Relay that finished 4th with a 1:35.86 in the finals.
