Worrell, Comerford, and Cottrell Lead Team USA to USA College Challenge Victory

Three University of Louisville swimmers, Andrea Cottrell, Kelsi Worrell and Mallory Comerford, helped
the USA National Team win the Inaugural USA College Challenge Sunday at the Indiana University
Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis. Team USA beat an all-star team from the Big Ten
Conference 349-247 after two days of competition.
The USA Women are coached by UofL head coach Arthur Albiero and saw Cards participate in six events, winning two on the final day of racing.
In the 200-free, the B1G's Siobhan Haughey, who won with a time of 1:42.93. USA's Mallory Comerford was second, boarding a 1:43.28. Virginia star and Olympian Leah Smith  was third in1:44.37.
Olympic gold medalist and B1G representative Lilly King led the field for the win in the 100-breast, going 57.30. Andrea Cottrell touches next in for Team USA with a time of 58.85. Â
Cardinal alumna and Olympic gold medalist Kelsi Worrell won the 200 fly with 1:53.45, almost two seconds ahead of the rest of the field. B1G's Gia Dalesander was second in 1:55.77.
Team USA went  2-3-4 in 50 free with Madison Kennedy (22.11), Mallory Comerford (22.26),  and Amanda Weir (22.53). Comerford's time was a personal best.
Andrea Cottrell finished with the fifth fastest time in the 200-IM, swimming exhibition.
In the 400-free relay, the final event of the meet, Team USA posted the winning time of 3:11.64, powered by Ali DeLoof (48.81), Kelsi Worrell (47.41), Amanda Weir (48.39), and Mallory Comerford (47.03)
