Coach and Cards are part of the USA College Challenge
USA Swimming and the Big Ten Conference announced Monday the rosters for the upcoming USA College Challenge, scheduled for Nov. 12-13 in Indianapolis at the Indiana University Natatorium on the IUPUI campus. University of Louisville stars Mallory Comerford and Andrea Cottrell as well as Cardinal alumna Kelsi Worrell will represent the United States. Â
Louisville head coach Arthur Albiero was named as the USA Head Coach, and he will be assisted by Virginia assistant Cory Chitwood, Georgia assistant Stefanie Williams and Carmel Swim Club coaches Ian Murray and Chris Plumb.
The Big Ten squads include athletes from all the schools in the conference. Michigan head coach Mike Bottom will be the skipper for the women's team and he will be assisted by from Minnesota coach Kelly Kramer, and Indiana's head coach, Ray Looze, as well as Ohio State assistant coach, Bill Wadley, will help coach the men.
Members of Team USA will include Kelsi Worrell, Lilly King, Cody Miller, Blake Pieroni, Cierra Runge, Tom Shields, Leah Smith and Amanda Weir.  Louisville stand-out Mallory Comerford  and breaststroke specialist Andrea Cottrell on the women's 'national team' roster will join SwimMAC's Madison Kennedy, and Sierra Schmidt, as well as UVa's Olympic medalist Leah Smith. On the men's side of the national team, 2015 World Junior Champion Michael Andrew, along with 2016 Olympian Jacob Pebley and Tom Shields and Cody Miller.
The two-day, short-course yards meet consists of two sessions – Saturday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. ET and Sunday, Nov. 13 at 11:30 a.m. All-session tickets cost $35 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. Single-day tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children. Click here to purchase tickets.
The Big Ten Network will televise both sessions of the meet on Sunday, Nov. 13. The Nov. 12 session will air on delay at 10 a.m., followed by a live broadcast of the Nov. 13 session from noon-2 p.m. Both sessions also will stream live online and via the BTN2GO app. Bernie Guenther and Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines will call the action from Indianapolis for the Big Ten Network.
