Cross Country Set for the ACC Championships on Friday

Cardinals begin postseason at the ACC Championships

Start Times: 10:03 a.m. Women's 6K Race | 10:45 a.m. Men's 8K Race
Place: WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina

The Field: The race features all 15 ACC teams for both the men's and women's races. The women's field features two ranked teams with No. 3 North Carolina State and No. 19 Notre Dame, while Syracuse and Virginia also received votes in the national poll. The Men's field features three ranked teams, including defending national champion and No. 6 Syracuse, No. 16 Virginia, and no. 26 Virginia Tech, and Florida State who received votes.

After finishing 28th in the women's race and 23rd in the men's race at the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. both teams will be back in action on Friday at the ACC Championships in Cary, N.C. The women's 6K event begins at 10:03 a.m. with the men's 8K event following at 10:45 a.m.

Dorcas Wasike led the way for the women with a season best time of 20:46.9, good enough for 30th. Â Sophomore Caroline Gosser also posted a season best time of 21:37.6 to finish 120th.

Calvin Chemoiywo led the men finishing just shy of his personal best with a time of 24:07.7 and a fifth place finish. Edwin Kibichiy finished two tenths of a second behind him for sixth with a time of 24:09.7.

Following this weekends action, the Cardinals will prepare for the NCAA Southeast Regional in Panorama Farms, Va. on November 11th.
