LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team is heading east this week to compete at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational from Friday through Sunday in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The Cardinals, among a 17-team field, are slated to tee off with Vanderbilt and UNC Wilmington from UNC Finley Golf Course – a par-72, 6,379-yard course – at 10:39 a.m. ET. Teams will play 18 holes each day, with a shotgun start on Sunday.
The three-day event features eight programs ranked in Golfstat's top 30: No. 1 Alabama, No. 12 North Carolina, No. 13 Duke, No. 21 Wake Forest, No. 23 Ohio State, No. 24 South Carolina, No. 25 Arkansas, and No. 27 Tennessee.
Louisville, ranked 51st, will utilize a lineup of Lauren Hartlage, Molly Skapik, Jacqueline Twitty, Olivia Cason, and Shannon Gramley. Live scoring can be accessed through Golfstat.com.
Through three tournaments, the freshman Hartlage is pacing the team in scoring average (73.00) and rounds even or below par (4). Last time out, the Elizabethtown, Ky., native capped the Cougar Classic tied for fourth with a 7-under-par 209, the best three-round score by a freshman in school history. It was her best finish of the season.
Skapik (74.88) and Twitty (75.00) are second and third, respectively, in scoring average, with Twitty boasting one top-10 finish.
Collectively, the Cardinals' four-player teams are averaging a 9-over-par 297.00 and have two top-10 showings.
