Longhi Neto Joins Men's Tennis Team

Freshman Carlos Longhi Neto is eligible to compete in January

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's tennis head coach Rex Ecarma has announced that Carlos Longhi Neto has joined the team and will be immediately eligible to play in January, 2016.

"It is so nice to have Carlos Longhi Neto join us," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "He is such a nice young man with good manners and character. He is also a player with some serious potential. Obviously, the learning curve will take some time, effort and patience but once he gets it, he can impact our lineup. He loves the game and carries himself with good body language on the court. We are throwing a lot of information at him right now but I am confident that he can be very successful."

Longhi Neto joins the Cardinals from Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he won eight national tournaments and reached the singles quarterfinals of Copa Milo, an International Tennis Federation (ITF)Grade 2 tournament. He was also selected for the Brazilian Under 18 National team in a match against Portugal.
