
Men's Golf to Compete at Dick's Sporting Goods SEC/ACC Challenge

Cards face tough challenge at SEC/ACC event
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team will travel to the Golf Club of Tennessee to take part in the DICK's Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup, which will be played Sept. 25-27 in Nashville, Tenn.
Competing in one of the most difficult tournaments of the fall, the three-day collegiate golf event pits the top ACC and SEC teams against each other for a 54-hole team stroke play event, followed by an 18-hole match play conference finale, pitting the teams in each conference against each other to play for the "Top Conference" honors.
This year's tournament, which is hosted by the Nashville Sports Council, features a total of 12 teams – six from each conference. The tournament format includes 36 holes on Friday, 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday's 18-hole match play segment.
The tournament is highlighted by some of the top programs in collegiate golf. The field boasts a combined six squads ranked among the top 15 nationally, while 10 of the 12 are ranked in the top 30 in the nation, according to Golfweek's latest poll.
Representing the ACC will be No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 Clemson, No. 9 Georgia Tech, No. 15 Duke, Louisville and Virginia. The SEC will be represented by No. 12 Georgia, No. 13 Vanderbilt, No. 20 Alabama, No. 24 Florida, No. 26 Tennessee and Kentucky.
The Cardinals' five-man lineup this weekend includes Robin Sciot-Siegrist, J.D. Lehman, Patrick Frodigh, Simon Zach and Hugo Esposito.
