
Cardinals Open the Spring Season in Puerto Rico

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team resumes its season for the first time in almost four months when it heads to Puerto Rico for the 33rd Puerto Rico Classic, starting Monday.
Competing against one of best fields in NCAA golf, the No. 29 Cardinals head to Puerto Rico to face a field that features seven of the nation's top 50 programs, including No. 1 Virginia and No. 2 LSU. No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 18 Tennessee, No. 32 Georgia, No. 37 Purdue and No. 49 South Carolina. College of Charleston, Marquette, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and North Florida also rounds out the 15-team field.
The Cardinals are coming off a solid fall season where they posted a second-place finish at the prestigious Blessings Collegiate and a third-place ending at the Williams Cup.
Action begins Monday and will run through Wednesday, with the 15 teams playing 18 holes each day.

Stretching along the Grand Reserve beachfront peninsula, with El Yunque rainforest as a backdrop, patrons will experience an epic 18 holes of championship golf. After competing at the Rio Mar Country Club since its inception, the Puerto Rico Classic moved to the Grand Reserve Golf Club 2022 after being played at the Rio Mar Country Club previously.
