Cards in Ninth Place After Firs Round of the Williams Cup

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team is in ninth place after the first round of the Williams Cup at the Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, N.C., on Sunday.
The Cardinals shot a 4-over-par 292 to sit in ninth place after the first 18 holes of the three-day tournament.
Andrew Tan is the top player for the Cards as he is tied for 16th place after shooting a 1-under-par 71. He enters the second round just four shots behind Jacob Modleski, who is the leader at 5-under-par/
Tan would register three birdies and a pair of bogeys over his first 18 holes. Cooper Claycomb is tied for 21st with his even-par 72.Â
Easton Johnson is tied for 39th place after his 2-over-par 74 and Warren Thomis checks in at 55th place after his three-par 75.
Brady Smith closed out the top five with his round of 79 to stand in 75th place.
The second round is scheduled to begin early Monday morning.
