Hey Cards fans!
My name is Jasmine Bennett and I am a freshman middle blocker from Paducah, Kentucky. This is my first year as a Cardinal and I'm more than excited about this upcoming season for Louisville Volleyball!
Today, we completed day 10 out of our 12 day preseason. Everything is slowly coming to an end for preseason but, that doesn't mean our hard work comes to a stop. Today we started out with our morning breakfast with our strength and conditioning coach Zach. Sadly, we didn't have any of his amazing protein shakes before practice, but even without the shakes, he still made sure we got everything we needed to prepare our bodies for a great practice!
This morning's practice was started off by our usual down and back warm up routine followed by a full session focused on our passing and serving technique. We ended our first session with the famous blue line drill, which is where we all had to serve to two particular zones, and hit them at a certain speed. We had to get a total of 28 points. The first time we failed to meet 28, but it made us more mentally focused to meet 28 again the next time. We finished the drill with a score of 39 out of 28 on our second try! This was the best way to end a tough first session!!
In between our two sessions, we all did foam rolling to help all of our sore muscles. We also completed rehab sessions with our amazing athletic trainer Nicole! We can always count on Nicole to get our bodies right before our next session!
I believe that preseason so far has definitely been challenging but we have all stepped up to the challenge and are looking for that light at the end of the tunnel! We are all improving as individuals and as a team! You all will definitely need to come see how much our hard work has payed off for your self this season
Thank you for reading and we will see you soon Cards fans!
