Men's Tennis Hosts Oregon and Morehead State Sunday

The University of Louisville men's tennis team will host play host to Oregon and Morehead State Sunday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The first match will be against Oregon at 10:00 a.m. followed by a match against Morehead State at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.
"We have a very challenging day versus Pac-12's Oregon who is coming off one of the program's best season ever," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "Then we play a much improved Morehead State. I feel that my upperclassmen understand the rationale of a day like this and I will count on a freshman or two as well."
The No. 43-ranked Louisville (2-2) looks to a competitive weekend while boasting the No. 1 singles player in the nation - Sebastian Stiefelmeyer who carries a 20-3 overall record and is 2-0 in dual matches. Fellow senior Albert Wagner is ranked No. 59 in singles play with a 16-7 overall record (2-2 dual).
The Cards have been idle for two weeks since traveling to Virginia as UVA hosted the ITA Kickoff Weekend tournament. Louisville defeated VCU 4-0 on Jan. 23, but could not hold off the No. 3 Virginia upon advancing to the second round. The Cards fell 5-0 to the Cavaliers.

Scouting the Ducks: Oregon (6-1) swept through two matches against Nevada last weekend. The Ducks claimed a 7-0 victory against the Wolf Pack on Jan. 30, and a 6-1 win on Jan. 31.

Scouting the Eagles: Morehead State (1-3) claimed its first win of the season at home on Tuesday against Lindsey Wilson.
Up Next: The Cards will host another doubleheader on Feb. 14 against Michigan State at 12:00 p.m. and Austin Peay at 5:00 p.m. Both matches will be held at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
