Jenkins leads with 12 kills
Janelle Jenkins had 12 kills, two blocks and an ace to lead the University of Louisville volleyball team to a 25-18, 25-17, 25-13 over ACC foe Georgia Tech in conference action Friday night in Atlanta.

The Cardinals move to 5-0 in the ACC and are 11-4 overall. Louisville hit .327 for the match with four aces, 54 digs and 5.5 blocks. GT (11-6, 2-3) hit .161 with seven service errors and 43 digs. Erin Fairs and Tess Clark each had nine kills. Setter Katie George had four kills, 13 digs and a match-high 31 assists. Â

"We got incredible contributions from everyone tonight," said UofL head coach Anne Kordes. "I thought our defense, passing and serving was the key. Katie George continues to have an impact emotionally. When you watch her, you can tell how she wants her senior season to go. It is a blast to watch her in her element."
In the first set, UofL used .341 hitting to stay ahead of the Jackets after the Cards did not relinquish the lead after taking it at 6-5 for the first time. Tech called time out trailing at 13-10 and at 20-16 but were not able to sustain a comeback. Janelle Jenkins had six kills in the set to lead the Cards' offense in the 25-18 win.

The Card left the Jackets at the starting gate in the second set when they blew out to a 17-9 lead, when Tess Clark connected with Katie George for the kill. Down 23-13, George Tech managed a short comeback to get to 17 but the Cards rolled 25-17. The Cards hit .419 in the set and outdug the Jackets 36-24.

Georgia Tech emerged from the break with renewed energy and took an early lead at 7-6. The Cards doused the Jackets' hopes with 9-2 run late for the 25-13 win.
