
Courtney Trimble Named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville's Courtney Trimble was named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, the league office announced on Thursday afternoon. Three Cardinals also earned all-conference honors, Emily Haas, Laura Restrepo and Katie Petrino.
Trimble guided the Cardinals to the inaugural American Women's Golf Championship and shot a 299 in the final round to defeat UCF by one stroke. Louisville is ranked 38th in the nation in the latest GolfStat rankings and earned the conference automatic bid to NCAA Regionals. The Cardinals return to the NCAA Regionals for the first time in since 2011.
Haas finished second at the American Athletic Championship. Her 10-foot put on the 18th hole helped the Cardinals win the conference title. Haas ranks second on the team in stroke average with a 73.3 average. Haas is currently ranked 94th by Golfstat. She has five Top 10 Finishes this season.
Restrepo leads the team in stroke average with a 73. She finished tied for seventh at the American Athletic Championship. She is currently ranked 63rd by Golfstat. She has won two tournaments this season and has six Top 10 Finishes.
Petrino ranks third on the team in stroke average with a 74.1. She is currently ranked 142nd by Golfstat. Petrino has three Top 10 Finishes this season and three Top 20 Finishes. She finished tied for 12th at the American Championship.
The Cardinals will be back in action May 8-10 at the NCAA East Regional at SouthWood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.
