Three Swimmers Advance to NCAA Finals Plus 800-Free Relay

The University of Louisville men's swimming team will send three into the individual finals tonight after the second day of prelims at 2014 NCAA Championships at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Senior sprinter Joao De Lucca is seeking to defend his national title of a year ago in the 200-freestyle. He put up a qualifying time of 1:33.11, to be seeded second behind Michael Wynalda of Michigan in what is shaping up to be a showdown between the two.
Louisville sends two into the breaststroke consol finals with Thomas Dahlia qualifying 12th with a time of 52.56, the second fastest time ever for a Cardinal in that event. Senior Kameron Chastain, a four time NCAA qualifier was in hot pursuit with a 52.59 to qualify 13th and make the field.
The Cardinals will also swim the 800-free relay, a timed final, this evening and are seeded tenth in that event.
In other swims, Pedro Coutinho finished second in his heat in the 100-fly with a time of 47.05. Addison Bray put up his lifetime best time in the 100-breast with a 53.30 for 21st. Aaron Greene went 47.7 in the 100-back. Tarasevich finished 32nd in the 100-back with a 47.03.
The 200-medley relay won its heat with a 1:26.65 with splits of 22.22 for Grigory Tarasevich, 23.90 for Kameron Chastain, 20.93 for Pedro Coutinho and a 19.59 anchor from Caryle Blondell for 21st.
