
Stiefelmeyer Advances to ITA All-American Championship Round of 16

TULSA, Okla. - University of Louisville senior Sebastian Stiefelmeyer reached the 2014 ITA All-American Championship Singles Main Draw round of 16 Friday afternoon.
"It was great to see Sebastian get this win," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "He was able to stay at a very high level today and beat a quality player."
Stiefelmeyer, No. 110 in the ITA preseason rankings, upset fifth-ranked Sorenson Hess-Olesen 6-4, 6-2 to reach Saturday's round of 16.
Playing in the consolation draw, senior Albert Wagner fell 6-1, 6-2 to Texas A&M's A.J. Catanzariti.
"Sebastian continues to make history and playing to his full potential," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "I encouraged him to enjoy the moment. This tournament is at the same level as the NCAA Championship."
