Cardinals Announce Weekend Scrimmage Schedule

Senior OF Cole Sturgeon and the Cardinals will host three scrimmages this week at Jim Patterson Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville baseball team will continue its preseason preparations this week with a trio of scrimmages at Jim Patterson Stadium on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The No. 8-ranked Cardinals will begin their scrimmage slate on Thursday at 3 p.m., ET, while Friday's first pitch is set for 2 p.m. The scrimmage schedule is set to close on Saturday at noon. Full-squad practice officially began last Friday, three weeks prior to opening day for the 2014 collegiate baseball season (Feb. 14).
The Cardinals will open their season at the Homewood Suites Tournament hosted by The Citadel on Feb. 14-16 in Charleston, S.C. Louisville will kick off the 2014 campaign against West Virginia at noon ET at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on Friday, Feb. 14. A day later, the Cardinals will take on the host Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m., (Feb. 15) before closing the event on Sunday (Feb. 16) at 10 a.m., against Delaware.
Louisville will open its 36-game home slate on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium against Eastern Kentucky. The midweek matchup with the Colonels will begin a 17-game homestand for the Cardinals.
