ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team went undefeated in doubles and posted six singles wins against Rice to open the UCF Quad Tournament Friday.
"It was a really good start for us," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "We only had one day of outdoor tennis practice and managed to win 10 of our 12 matches. I was particularly pleased with two aspects: sweeping all four doubles and winning all of our three set matches."
The tournament format features teams playing against each other in singles and doubles, but no team scores are kept. Juniors Sebastian Stiefelmeyer and Chris Simich, sophomore Jeffrey Brown and freshman Eric Bonfre all went undefeated in singles and doubles.
The 48th ranked Cardinals will take on the Citadel in doubles and singles and TCU in singles Saturday.
