LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 2013-14 Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason rankings have been released and the University of Louisville's Sebastian Stiefelmeyer stands at No. 47 in singles.
"I am happy that Sebastian is being rewarded for the good season he had last year," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "He was one spot from making the 2013 NCAA Singles Championship. He had several big singles wins last year and I know he is determined to have even more this year. He really wants to make the Singles NCAA and he joins an elite group of Louisville Cardinals like Austen Childs, Slavko Radman, Andy Schrecker, Brendan Burke and a few others to make the top 50 in the nation."
The junior from Vienna, Austria is a two-time all-conference selection and the 2012 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year. In 2013, he compiled a 23-17 overall record in singles and a 12-12 mark as the Cards' No. 1 player. This marks the highest career ITA singles ranking for Stiefelmeyer who spent every week in the 2013 rankings, reaching as high as No. 66.
