
Haley Andreas and Katie Petrino Wrap Up Play in the US Women's Amateur

Charleston, S.C. - Haley Andreas and Katie Petrino wrapped up t play in the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, being conducted at the par-71 Country Club of Charleston after two rounds of stroke play. On the strength of a 7-under-par 64, Yumi Matsubara held the clubhouse lead with a two-day total of 7-under 135 following Tuesday's stroke play.
The marked weather change from Monday to Tuesday led to the lower scoring second round. Monday's 20-mph winds dissipated overnight, leaving the Seth Raynor-designed course receptive to lower scores for the field of golfers.
Andreas finished two rounds of stroke play tied at 66th. Andreas shot a 73 in the second round for a score of 151. She missed the cut by one stroke. The cut was made at 150 for the top 64 players. She finished the day with one birdie and 14 pars to finish the day at two over.
Petrino finished the two rounds of stroke play tied at 96th. Petrino finished fired a 73 in the second round to finish with a score of 154, missing the cut by four strokes. She finished the day with two birdies and 12 pars.
The 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship is open to female amateur golfers. It consists of 36 holes of stroke play followed by six rounds of match play, with the championship scheduled to conclude with a 36-hole final on Sunday.
The U.S. Women's Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
