The University of Louisville women's volleyball team has moved up two spots in the AVCA Coaches Poll, from No. 15 last week to the current rank of No. 13 in the nation.
The No. 13 Louisville Cardinals (20-3, 9-1 BIG EAST) have now been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for eight consecutive weeks. This week the Cardinals reached 754 total points in the Coaches Top 25 Poll, compared to the 642 points received in the Oct. 15 poll. Louisville (6-0) is one of only five schools with a perfect record on the road: Penn St. (7-0), Florida (6-0), Hawaii (5-0), Marquette (5-0).
The Cards are currently in the midst of a four-game winning streak after triumphing on the road against Syracuse and No. 27 Marquette this past weekend. Louisville has also won eight of the past nine matches, with the only loss coming to No. 8 Texas. As of 10/22, Louisville is one of only eight schools with at least 20 wins (WKU, Central Arkansas, UMaryland-Eastern Shore, VCU, Towson, IPFW, Penn St).
Louisville has a record of 6-0 in away matches this season and will play the final away match of the 2012-2013 schedule against Cincinnati on Nov. 28. The Cardinals will then return home for the remainder of the regular season with matches against Villanova on Nov. 2, Georgetown on Nov. 4, Marquette on Nov. 9, and Cincinnati on Nov. 11.
