
Arslanbekova Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Senior Lola Arslanbekova of No. 15 Louisville was named BIG EAST volleyball Player of the Week after leading her team to two wins, including a 3-1 victory against Marquette on Oct. 21. Connecticut freshman Marissa Prinzbach led the Huskies to a 2-0 week to earn her first BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors.
Arslanbekova averaged a conference-best 6.00 kills per set in two matches. In a 3-0 win against Syracuse on Oct. 19, she posted 18 kills with just four errors for a .368 hitting percentage. The senior added 12 digs defensively to complete the double-double performance. On Oct. 21, the Cardinals handed Marquette its first BIG EAST loss of the season as Arslanbekova accounted for 24 kills on .328 hitting and 12 digs. In two matches, she averaged 6.00 kills and 3.43 digs per set with a .344 hitting percentage.
