
Men's Tennis Completes Day Two of UT Fall Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - - KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team picked up five wins on day two of the University of Tennessee Fall Invitational Saturday.
In singles, sophomore Luis Elizondo advanced to the semifinals of the White Division consolation draw with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Western Michigan's Stephen Payne and a 6-3, 6-4 victory over UT Chattanooga's Ankit Chopra.
Sophomore Michael Lippens defeated Xavier's Zachary Muek 7-5, 6-2 in the second round of the Orange consolation draw, but fell 7-6, 4-6, 7-2 to Xavier's Brandon MacDonald.
Sophomore Chris Simich lost to Tennessee's Brandon Fickey 7-5, 6-3 in the quarter finals of the Orange Flight.
In doubles action, Lippens and freshman Alex Gornet teamed to beat Wright State's Jami Clark and Hayden Joblin 8-4 in the Goodfriend consolation draw while Eliozndo and Simich defeate Wright State's Michal Lyzwa and Lauri Makikalli 8-4 in the Smokey consolation.
