
Arslanbekova Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Junior Lola Arslanbekova of Louisville led the Cardinals to a 3-0 weekend and the tournament title at the Cardinal Crowne Plaza Classic. For her efforts she was named BIG EAST Volleyball Player of the Week.
Arslanbekova, the BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year, was dominant for Louisville, leading the team with 63 kills in three tournament matches. She posted a career-high 26 kills against Wichita State on Sept. 3. en route to the MVP honors at the Cardinal Crowne Plaza Classic. Arslanbekova averaged 6.30 kills and 1.60 digs per set while recording 18 or more kills in all three weekend matches. She also reached her 1,000th career kill against Kansas State on Aug. 27, the quickest of any Louisville player to reach 1,000 in school history.
This is Lola's third Player of the Week award. She was also a four-time Freshman of the week in 2009.
