
Arslanbekova Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Louisville junior Lola Arslanbekova led the Cardinals volleyball team to a pair of BIG EAST sweeps last week and for her efforts was named BIG EAST Player of the Week.
Arslanbekova averaged 5.33 kills per set for Louisville as the Cardinals swept both St. John's and Connecticut in the opening weekend of BIG EAST Conference play. Five kills into the match against UConn, Arslanbekova moved into tenth place on the Louisville all time kills list as a junior. She ended the weekend with 1,216 career kills. She recorded a .537 hitting percentage with 32 kills and just three errors in her first two BIG EAST matches of the season. She has 14 or more kills in seven consecutive matches. This is the second time this season she has earned player of the week honors.
