Carter and Stiefelmeyer Win in UVA Ranked +One Doubles

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - - Senior Andrew Carter and freshman Sebastian Stiefelmeyer claimed the White Doubles title at the UVA Ranked +1 Invitational Sunday.
The tandem of Carter and Stiefelmeyer won their first two matches to set up their 8-6 win in the championship match against UVA's Philippe Oudshoorn and Justin Shane.
Senior Robert Hall and freshman Michael Lippens lost their "Orange" division opening round match, but won their next two to finish runner-up in the consolation bracket.
In singles action, Stiefelmeyer lost his opening round match, but went 3-0 in the consolation bracket of the Blue singles division.
Carter won his first round match in the Orange division, but fell to UVA's Jarmere Jenkins in the quarterfinals.
Freshman Michael Lippens won the first round of the "White" singles division, but suffered his first loss of the season when he fell 7-6, 7-5 to George Washington's Francisco Dias in the quarterfinals. Lippens went on to finish fifth in the division.
