LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville baseball team will continue its fall workouts with a pair of open scrimmages this weekend at Jim Patterson Stadium.
The Cardinals will open the weekend scrimmage schedule on Friday at 3 p.m., ET before concluding on Sunday at 4 p.m. Both scrimmages are open to the public and batting practice will begin approximately one hour prior to first pitch.
Louisville is in its second week of fall workouts in preparation for the 2012 season. The Cards will conclude the fall with the annual Pizza Bowl series, which is tentatively set to begin on Oct. 12. A complete Pizza Bowl schedule will be announced later in the fall.

Overall, Louisville returns 19 letterwinners from the 2011 team, which finished 32-29 overall.
Head coach Dan McDonnell enters his sixth season leading the Louisville baseball program. In his five previous seasons, McDonnell is 217-106 with two BIG EAST regular-season titles, two BIG EAST Tournament titles, four NCAA Regionals, two NCAA Super Regionals and one College World Series.
