
Women's Golf Wins the Indiana Invitational

Columbus, Ind. - After a day full of rain delays the University of Louisville women's golf team came back on the final day to win the Indiana Invitational at Otter Creek Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals finished the final 10 holes from yesterday with a score of 298 and shot a 295 on the second 18 holes for a score of 593. Eastern Michigan finished second with a score of 615 and Illinois finished third with a score of 619.
Junior Maria Castellanos shot a 72 in the first round and a 73 in the second round to capture medalist honors with a score of 145. It is the first medalist honors for Castellanos of her career. She is the third Cardinal to finish first in tournament action this season.
Senior Sara-Maude Juneau and sophomore Anna-Karin Ljungstrom both finished tied for second with a score of 147. Juneau shot a 73 in the first round and a 74 in the second round. Ljungstrom shot a 75 in the first round and a 72 in the second round.
Senior Laura Anderson shot a 78 in the first round and a 76 in the second round to finish tied for 12th. She finished with a 36-hole score of 154. Freshman Tara Lyons shot an 85 in the first round and a 78 in the second round to finish tied at 54th with a score of 163.
The Cardinals had two players competing as individuals in the tournament. Sophomore Candice Wiley shot an 81 in the first round and a 79 in the second round to finish tied at 36th with a score of 160. Freshman Maike Klein shot an 85 in the first round and an 86 in the second round to finish 79th with a score of 171.
The Cardinals will be back in action on April 17 at the BIG EAST Championships in Palm Harbor, Fla.
