LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville baseball team will look to even its season series with Kentucky when the two teams renew their rivalry on Tuesday at 7 p.m., ET at Cliff Hagan Stadium in Lexington.

Louisville will start sophomore right-hander Mike Nastold (3-4, 3.53 ERA) on the mound against Kentucky sophomore righty Jordan Cooper (2-1, 4.96 ERA). The Cardinals enter Tuesday's game at 22-17 overall after winning two of three at home against USF last weekend. The Wildcats are 19-22 overall after winning two of three against then-No. 12 Arkansas.
The Cardinals, who dropped a 3-2 decision in the first matchup on April 12 at Jim Patterson Stadium, trail the all-time series with the Wildcats 57-32-1. The two teams have split their two-game, home-and-home matchups in each of the last four years. Last season, Kentucky earned a 5-0 win in Lexington, while two weeks later, Louisville picked up a 10-9, walk-off victory in front of a regular season school record crowd of 4,039 at Jim Patterson Stadium.
The Cardinals are led by head coach Dan McDonnell, now in his fifth season in Louisville, where is he is 207-94 overall. In his first four seasons, he led Louisville to impressive heights, including its first ever College World Series appearance in 2007, four consecutive 40-win seasons, a school record 50 wins in 2010 and a school record four straight NCAA Championship appearances. Louisville has also hosted NCAA post-season games in three of the last four seasons.
The Wildcats are directed by Gary Henderson, who is 78-73 in his third season as head coach in Lexington. Last year, the Wildcats were 31-25 overall, including a 13-17 league record to finish fourth in the SEC East and ninth overall in the conference. UK's last NCAA Regional appearance came in 2008.
Following Tuesday's game at Kentucky, the Cardinals will return home to host a three-game weekend series against Georgetown, which opens on Friday at 6 p.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium.
