The University of Louisville volleyball team is set to play host to the University of Illinois in a spring match on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Cardinal Arena. Fans are invited and admission is free.
"We are going to play a best out of five match with Illinois," said U of L head coach Anne Kordes. "We would love to have our fans come out to watch. I have already gotten a lot of interest in the match so it will be fun."
U of L is the reigning BIG EAST Tournament champion and made its 21st appearance in the NCAA in 2010. The Cardinals lost starters Amanda Simmons and Lindsey Mango to graduation but have plenty of depth going into next year.
Last year, Illinois posted a 24-9 overall record in 2010 and reached the Sweet 16 for the third straight season and 19th time in school history. Illinois reached as high as No. 3 in the AVCA Coaches Poll, finishing the season ranked No. 9.
