Anna Karin Ljungstrom Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville sophomore Anna Karin Ljungstrom was named BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week for the week ending March 15, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Ljungstrom earned the first BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week award of the 2011 season after finishing in a tie for first at the LSU Golf Classic on March 11-13 at the University Club Golf Course in Baton Rouge, La. Ljungstrom shot a spring season-low 69 in the final round to tie Duke's Lindy Duncan for the lead. Duncan, the No. 3 ranked women's golfer in the country according to Golfweek, defeated Ljungstrom on the third playoff hole. The sophomore finished with a 2-over par 218, firing rounds of 75, 74 and 69. The Cardinals finished 10th in the 21 team field that included 19 ranked teams.
