ATHENS, Ga. - After an eventful bus trip, the 15th ranked men's tennis team finally arrived in Athens and after a full day there, sophomore Robert Hall shares the adventure in his second blog.
"The past day has been crazy! The bus we drove to Athens was not any where close to the normal van we all squeeze into, it was a massive luxury bus full of TV's, a stocked kitchen, video games, and my favorite - a couple beds. There were some very intense video game battles that took place in the back of the bus! But the trip took a lot longer than expected with traffic and a unexpected bus change in Nashville we did not arrive to our hotel till 2:30 this morning. It was not bad though because we are all able to go to sleep comfortably in our luxury bus. I do want to give a special thank you to our bus driver Red, he was able to get us here safely!
We did not get to settle into our hotel rooms for too long though because we were scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on the practice courts, so wake up call was 8:00A.M. Even with the hectic schedule everyone was focused from the beginning of practice and were able to get comfortable with the courts. It was a great feeling to be out on the practice courts this morning with all of the other top teams also practicing around you because you know only the best are here! We had a short practice - only an hour and half - then went and grabbed a quick lunch. After lunch we went back to the courts and had another practice this time it was much better everyone started to really find there rhythm and was much more upbeat. Even while we are gearing up for our match Friday the coaching staff continues to push us hard and we know we will be ready! Tonight we have a banquet to attend, I will tell you how that goes in tomorrow's post, so until tomorrow this is Robert Hall signing off. Stay classy Cardinals!"
