The 14th ranked University of Louisville men's team boasts two top 25 doubles teams with Simon Childs as the common denominator in both in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
Austen Childs and Simon Childs are No. 24 in the nation with an 8-5 overall record while Simon Childs teams with Alejandro Calligari to step in at No. 25 with a 6-2 mark.
"Simon is one of only two players in the country ranked in the top 25 nationally in doubles with two different partners," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "The other player is Tennessee's J.P. Smith. Simon gets a lot of opportunities to play ranked teams because he plays the No. 1 doubles court and I am happy that he makes use of this privilege. His next goal is to strengthen his game to be a top 25 singles player."
U of L also has two ranked singles players with Austen Childs standing in at No. 30 and Simon Childs at No. 76.
The Cardinals (15-5) will play host to Virginia Commonwealth Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
