The 14th ranked University of Louisville will play host to 21st ranked Virginia Tech at 2:30 on Wednesday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"Virginia Tech is a hot team that is very well-rested," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "I am hoping that the experience that we have playing so many top teams already this year will give us the edge. With two top 25 teams featured in this match, the winner will make big waves nationally. We hope the fans will come out early."
The Cards have matched up with Virginia Tech 14 times in program history with each team winning seven matches apiece. Louisville has notched victories in their last four home matches over the Hokies but lost 5-2 last season in Blacksburg, Va.
Louisville (12-3) is led by junior Austen Childs who stands in at No. 34 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings and has compiled an 11-2 season record as the team's top seeded singles player. Simon Childs is currently ranked 54th in the ITA poll and has built a 10-4 season record at No. 2.
After this week's match, the Cards will travel to Hawai'i for a spring break match on March 17 against the No. 41 Rainbow Warriors.
