Santa Barbara, Calif. - Junior All-American Colin Rolfe is one of three finalists for the 2010 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy, the highest individual honor in intercollegiate soccer. Joining Rolfe as a finalist are Indiana's Will Bruin and Akron's Darlington Nagbe. The finalists were determined in voting by Division I men's head coaches at institutions who are members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The trio will be invited to the Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis on Friday, Jan. 7, for a news conference, where the winner of the award will be revealed (approximately 7 p.m. EST). A banquet at the Club that evening will feature the formal presentation of the prestigious crystal soccer ball trophy to the winner.
Rolfe, a junior forward from Canton, Mich., has started all 22 games and has led Louisville to a No. 1 ranking and the program's first College Cup. He leads the team in scoring with 25 points on nine goals and seven assists. Rolfe earned first-team All-Big East honors and was named the BIG EAST Tournament's Offensive MVP. On Dec. 4, he scored two goals in a victory over UCLA that earned the Cardinals a trip to the College Cup. Rolfe was a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist last year and becomes the first player in Louisville history to be voted a finalist.
