
Four Field Hockey Players Earn All-West Region Honors

Four University of Louisville field hockey players earned Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I West Region honors. Senior Nicole Youman and junior Hayley Turner were named to the first team while seniors Rachel Hollenbach and Tuli Lim were selected to the second team. The 2010 Longstreth / NFHCA Division I All-American Teams will be announced on Monday, November 22nd.
Youman, a forward from Black Mountain, Australia, was the 2010 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year after dominating the conference in every offensive category. She registered 17 goals and dished out 19 assists, collecting 53 points and averaging 2.79 points per game. She is a four-year starter and two-year captain. The three-time NFHCA All-West Region and four-time All-BIG EAST Conference selection owns the school career and single season assists marks and also tied a school record with five goals in the 9-0 win over Central Michigan. She was also selected to play in the 2010 NFHCA Division I Senior Game.
Turner, a junior midfielder from Sydney, Australia, was second on the team with 24 points, eight goals and eight assists. She earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 4 and is a two-time All-BIG EAST and NFHCA All-West Region.
Hollenbach, a senior midfielder from Winfield, Pa., was a three year starter for the Cards. The All-BIG EAST Conference selection scored four goals and had two assists for 10 points this season. She has nine career goals and six assists for 24 points. She was also selected to play in the 2010 NFHCA Division I Senior Game.
Lim, a forward from Chapel Hill, N.C., was a four-year starter throughout her career at U of L. The two-time NFHCA All-West Region selection scored five goals and added seven assists for 17 points and was named to the 2010 All-BIG EAST tournament team.
The Cardinals completed the 2010 season with a 13-7 record and a 5-1 mark in BIG EAST Conference play. Louisville was ranked as high as No. 8 this season and spent six weeks in the top 10.
