
Men's Tennis Closes Play at Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA - - Freshman Arren Carter picked up a singles win as the University of Louisville men's tennis team completed wrapped up play at the Georgia Tech Invitational Sunday.
"Arren Carter scored an impressive win against the tournament's No. 2 seed," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "Among the new players, he has the best results. We have more heralded freshmen, but he has shown the most hunger and he is successfully implementing facets of our developmental program."
Carter defeated Georgia Tech's Miguel Muguruza 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 before falling 6-0, 6-4 to Georgia's Garrett Brasseuax in the quarterfinals of the consolation draw.
Freshman Felipe Nino lost 6-1, 6-3 to Middle Tennessee's Shaun Waters.
In doubles action Carter and Nino dropped a pair of 8-3 matches to Georgia's Hemus Pieters and Ignacio Tabuada and Middle Tennessee's Elliott Barnwell an Matthew Langley.
