The University of Louisville men's tennis team concluded Saturday's play at the 2009 Louisville Fall Invitational at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"I'm happy that Adam Donaldson bounced back with a win over Tennessee," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "I was also pleased with Sumit's third-set tiebreaker against Tennessee Tech's No. 2 player. He needed that to boost his confidence. Our guys are in great shape and were still playing hard throughout the day."
Sophomore Sumit-Prakash Gupta outlasted Tennessee Tech's Alex Chen 6-7(7-4), 6-4, 7-6 (13-11) in the quarterfinals of the Flight `A' consolation bracket. Gupta then fell to Illinois State's Alexander Pelaez 6-3, 6-1 in the semifinals.
In the `Red Division' sophomore Andrew Carter defeated Tennessee's Bryan Swartz 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 while sophomore Adam Donaldson fell to Tennessee's Taylor Patrick 7-6, 6-4.
