
Women's Golf Begin NCAA Regional Play Thursday

Columbus, Ohio - The 15th ranked University of Louisville women's golf team will begin play in the NCAA Central Regional tournament Thursday morning at the Scarlet Course in Columbus. The Cardinals will begin teeing off at hole No. 1 at 9:00 a.m., and admission is free throughout the event. Louisville will begin play in their third consecutive regional, earning their first automatic bid after winning the BIG EAST Championship.
The Cardinals will be one of 21 teams competing for one of eight spots to the NCAA Championship. Louisville is led by BIG EAST Player of the Year Cindy LaCrosse. LaCrosse is ranked 12th in the nation with a 71.2 stroke average, the best in school history. Sophomores Laura Anderson and Sara-Maude Juneau will be playing in their second NCAA Regional. Both Anderson and Juneau earned All-BIG EAST honors for the second year.
Junior Daphne Parker will be making her first NCAA appearance for the Cardinals. Parker made an immediate impact in the Cardinal lineup, earning All-BIG EAST honors as well. Freshman Maria Catellanos will also be making her first NCAA appearance after finishing 13th at the BIG EAST Championship.
