The 19th-ranked University of Louisville women's golf team earned a seventh place finish in the Bryan National Collegiate Sunday. The Cards finished the tournament at 48 over. LSU won the tournament at 23-over, beating Virginia by four strokes. Wake Forest was third at 30-over.
The Cardinals shot rounds of 306-307-297 in the tournament to finish three strokes behind sixth place South Carolina. U of L finished ahead of No. 20 Michigan State which tied for ninth place. Thirteenth-ranked Georgia tied for 14th with Notre Dame.
Individually for the Cards, sophomore Laura Anderson finished eighth in the tournament, finishing at six over par (75-75-72). Senior Cindy LaCrosse finished twelfth at nine over par (77-77-71). LSU's Megan McChrystal fired a final-round 69 (-3) to finish at 1-under for the weekend - the only player in the field under par - and took individual medalist honors by three strokes. Finishing in a tie for second at 2-over were Abby Bools of East Carolina and Nannette Hill of Wake Forest.
Louisville sophomore Sara-Maude Juneau finished tied for 35th, junior Daphne Parker with tied for 52nd and freshman Maria Castellanos was tied for 84th.
U of L is back in action April 19-21 at the BIG EAST Championship in Dade, Fla.
