
17th Ranked Cardinals Open Up Spring Season at Qdoba Invitational

Louisville, Ky. - The 17th ranked Louisville women's golf team will travel to Miami, Fla. Feb. 15-17 to open the spring season at the 2009 Qdoba Invitational, at the Don Shula's Golf Resort. Fourteen teams are slated to compete as Augusta State, Georgia State, Illinois State, Louisville, Mercer, USF, Tulane, NC State, Memphis, Oklahoma City University, UNC Greensboro, Washington St., James Madison join Miami in the three-day tournament.
Competition will begin on Sunday with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., followed by 12:30 p.m. shotgun start on Monday and an 8 a.m. start on Tuesday.
The Cardinals are led by senior Cindy LaCrosse. LaCrosse is currently ranked No. 7 in the Golfstat College Cup rankings. She leads the team with a 70.1 stroke average. She finished in the top three in three of the Cards' four fall tournaments.
Sophomore Laura Anderson will start the spring playing the No. 2 spot for the Cardianls. Anderson ranks third on the team in scoring average with a 74.2 average. Junior Daphne Parker will play in the third spot for the Cardinals. She ranks fourth on the team in scoring average with a 74.4 average.
Freshman Maria Castellanos will play in the fourth in the lineup for the Cardinals. Castellanos finished the fall season with a 78.3 stroke average. Sophomore Sara-Maude Juneau will play the fifth spot in the lineup for the Cardinals. Juneau is second on the team with a 73.3 stroke average.
