Sophomore Robert Hall advanced through the qualifying draw to earn a spot in the Wilson/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship which is being held at the IU Indoor Tennis Center. The event will feature players from 16 teams in the Ohio Valley region.
"Robert Hall was playing really good tennis," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "He was disappointed that he didn't get into main draw right off the bat, so he played like he had a vendetta. He became our sixth player in the main draw which speaks well for our team regionally and nationally."
After receiving a first round bye, Hall defeated Xavier's J.T. Torbeck 7-5, 6-1 and went on to beat East Tennessee's Robin Akser to earn one of eight qualifying spots in the championships main draw.
