BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team continued its strong play on day two of the Hoosier Invitational, winning four of six matches played. Freshman Robert Hall will play in the finals of the Crimson Flight Sunday.
"It was really hot and humid today. We managed to win four of our six matches, weren't bothered by heat and elements," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "I was proud of the guys, I think they are being rewarded for how much they've been working on their fitness since school started and it showed today."
Hall cruised through the quarterfinals and semifinals the Hoosier Flight by defeating Western Michigan's Brad Noel 6-2, 6-0 and Michigan State's Ronnie Hulewicz 6-0, 6-0. He will compete in the finals Sunday morning.
"Robert Hall is showing everyone that he is ready for his first college season with some dominating wins today," said Ecarma. "He is looking for his first college divisional title tomorrow."
In the quarterfinals of the IU Flight, Tim Barnoud fell to Michigan State's Andy Forger 6-1, 6-2, then defeated Zach Frish of Western Illinois in the Consolation draw 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
