The University of Louisville men's tennis team will open the 2008-09 fall season at the Hoosier Invitational Sept. 12-14.
"We are excited about playing the Indiana University Invitational. The competition will be stiff but we have prepared hard for it. Tim Barnoud and freshmen Robert Hall and Andrew Carter will represent our team. Tim is a player that really wants to have good results so he can challenge for the starting lineup. My focus with him is to relax him because I know how fired up he is. Hall and Carter were both highly recruited freshmen and they want to show why they were highly recruited with some big results in their first time out. It should be fun."
U of L returns six players, including All-BIG EAST Conference tournament performers Austen Childs, Simon Childs and Viktor Maksimcuk. The Cards completed the 2008 season with a 17-8 overall record, finished fourth in the conference and was No. 48 in the final ITA team rankings released on May 23.
